This course provides each students with specific drawing skills as it pertains to creating characters and storyboard for 3D Animation |

Storyboarding |
| |
This course focuses on applying industry standard storyboard techniques for 3D animation and short film. |
| 4. |
Drawing & Perspective |
| |
This course involves the observation and translation of three-dimensional form into two dimensional drawings |
| 5. |
Environment modeling |
| |
Students will use current industry techniques to plan, storyboard and create environments to compliment their models/characters. |
| 6. |
Character Modeling |
| |
This course focuses on students developing their original hand/computer drawn character(s) which will then be introduced into AutoDesk Maya for modeling. |
| 7. |
Model Texturing |
| |
After students have completed their character modeling, Adobe Photoshop will then be used to create rich realistic texture. |
| 8. |
Portfolio Development
Students will participate explore and research their chosen field of interests; preparing for the work force. Topics covered include self promotion through web design, posters, interactive content and business cards, resume writing, cover letters, job searching and interview techniques. |

Rigging
This course will explore techniques and idea such as binding, skin and bones as they pertain to rigging 3D model/characters.

Film & FX
Students will explore the practice and techniques of using PFMA’s green screen to marrying 3D Animation with live action footage. |

Character Animation
Students will study timing and weight through a series of projects designed to demonstrate the principles of animation using a 3D software (MAYA).

Audio/Lip Sync
This course focuses on the tool and technique used to breath emotion and personality into 3d characters. |
| 13. |
3D Effects & particle system |
| |
Using Autodesk Maya, students will introduce particles systems and dynamic simulations. |
| 14. |
Lighting & Rendering |
| |
In this class students will be introduced to lighting strategies to add detail and realism to objects without adding complexity to the model |
| 15. |
Digital Music
Students will learn how to create loops sounds fx and background and ambient music that complements their animation and short movies |
| 16. |
Video/Audio editing/demo reel |
| |
Students will use industry video / audio editing software to edit their short film and final demo reel. |
| 17. |
Compositing and Rendering
Students will learn how to render realistic skin, reflections and light bouncing. How to break the scene apart so that objects are rendered separately to save time; Students will use and intergraded software such as Autodesk toxic for color corrections |
| 18. |
Final Project |
| |
student will combine their individual 3D character with class mates to create a joint theme for the final project (short film). Students will use their newly acquired skills and knowledge to successfully develop full storyboarding, story telling, production planning and demo reel. |

The 3D Animation & FX program provides its participants with the skills needed to become employable in the 3D industry. The following are examples of areas in this vast industry our graduate can find employment.
