Cyrus Block is a cinematographer, producer and educator. Cyrus has worked with filmmakers like John Carpenter (The Thing), John Badham (Stakeout and Bird on a Wire), Robert Altman (Killer App), and on Canada's own Beachcombers as a camera operator and director of photography. He has produced and photographed commercials for the Hudson Bay Company and The Gap. Recently, Cyrus was director of photographer for the award-winning short film No Bikini and was second unit director of photography for the Victoria mini series called Terminal City. Cyrus has presented film seminars for a variety of film groups in Vancouver and Victoria. He has taught film production at Emily Carr College of Art in Vancouver and now at Pacific Film & New Media Academy. Cyrus is a member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and the International Photographers Guild of the United States and Canada. He graduated with first class honors from the London Film School in Britain, and holds a B. Sc. In Marine Biology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon
